A good film may shock us, frustrate us, puzzle us, or even offend us, but it will never bore us.
This film stars Zack Orji of “Games Women Play” , Stella Damasus Aboderin, “Widow & Games Women Play”, and Nollywood’s resident Bad Girl Patience Ozokwo , “ 2 Rats, Crying Angel, Blood Sister’s 1 & 2 and in this role it is a tossup with her role in Apology another must see for drama fans.
The story begins when a village girl (think of the rural suburbs) marries a wealthy man and moves to Lagos (think of New York, Los Angeles or Philadelphia) and Azuka & Patrick are happy and content, that is until Lebechi aka hurricane Katrina moves in with them and takes over her mind.
Think of an indecent proposal, a mother-in-law “Gold digger” that slept with her eldest daughters husband and now plotting for the youngest daughters husband. If this isn’t enough get out a piece of scratch paper and watch as this women collects money from her son-in-laws and daughters…I counted over 138,000 and my count is debated among my family as to how much loot was collected. And where is all this money going? This film is true to life in any culture. The nonstop controversy with a scheming woman that ill-advises a young woman astray. In one sequence the sisters’ dialogs is upstaged by the adorable baby boy who plays the son Azuka abandoned. As you watch Lebechi manipulate her daughter to cheat and lie and steal from her husband you wonder how much will Patrick take? When Lebechi goes to her elder brother for a charm for her son-in-law and daughter karma intercedes.
Hey, you must see this one and our family (Nigerian movie lovers) gives this old school film 5 stars it is a family favorite.
